Decoy Styles that need
an adapter
Decoy Styles that do not
need an adapter
Some styles and manufacturers choose to put the receiver hole for the anchor above the keel. If your decoys have this style of keel, you will need to purchase the adapters to make the decoy work with the Puddleset® anchor.
As you can see, the adapters are nothing more then a 14" plastic tie wrap with a 50 pound tensile strength. It is highly recommended that you purchase the tie wraps from Puddleset. In the event of a failure, if you are using tie wraps that are not approved by Puddleset®, replacements may not be covered.
An adapted decoy with the clasp from a Puddleset® anchor attached is shown here.
Some styles and manufacturers of decoys put the receiver hole for anchors on the end of the keel. Most water keel decoys are manufactured this way. If your decoys have this style of keel, no adapters are required for use with the PuddleSet® anchors. This style is pictured below with a PuddleSet® anchor attached.
Another style of decoy that is ready for use with the PuddleSet® anchors are inflatable decoys. Caution should be used when using the PuddleSet® to throw this style decoy as the torque that can be generated could damage the decoy itself. This style is pictured below with a PuddleSet® anchor attached.
